  • Résumé

    Ma recherche se concentre essentiellement sur la philosophie de Spinoza et son ancrage dans la philosophie du XVII siècle. À travers le prisme de son concept de potentia, ou puissance, il m'intéresse de comprendre le geste et l'originalité spinoziste en contraste avec la philosophie, la science et la réalité historique telles qu'elles furent vécues par Spinoza au XVII siècle, autrement dit sa singularité. La puissance et le pouvoir de penser, que sont-ils et quel est leur rôle, voire leur droit, dans un Etat? Quel est la puissance, le pouvoir et le droit d'un Etat, soit-il monarchie, démocratie ou oligarchique? Que peut-un corps, quelle est sa puissance d'agir et de penser, de résister? Que peut l'imaginaire et que peut l'histoire? Quelle est la puissance du langage, et des affects? Telles sont les questions diverses, mais solidaires d'une ontologie de la puissance, que ma recherche vise à mettre en lumière comme étant le noyau problématique de la pensée de Spinoza.

    My research focuses mainly on Spinoza's philosophy and its grounding in 17th century philosophy. Through the prism of his concept of potentia, or power, I am interested in understanding Spinoza's gesture and originality in contrast with the philosophical, scientific and historic reality of the seventeenth century. The potentia and the power to think, what are they and what is their role, even their right, in a state? What is the potentia, the power and the right of a state, whether it is a monarchy, a democracy or an oligarchy? What can a body do, what is its potentia to act and think, to resist? What can the imagination and what can history do? What is the power of language and of the affects? These are some of the few questions we'll be asking, insofar as they are all part of an ontology of power, which my research aims to highlight as the problematic core of Spinoza's thought.
