  • Résumé

    La « Musicalligraphie » est un concept de « contrepoint » dans l’art contemporain, qui superpose la musique et la calligraphie à travers ses natures, matérielle, structurelle et spéculative. Il s’agit d’une compatibilité organique de la corrélation réciproque d’éléments visuels et sonores qui se traduit par des mediums contrastants mais complémentaires dans un milieu artistique en constante évolution. Pour parvenir à un aboutissement profond, un résultat tangible, il est primordial de disséquer, fragmenter et défragmenter méthodiquement les composants esthétiques, artistiques mais aussi créatifs, de la musique et de la calligraphie. Une contemplation globale suivie d’une observation pointue des substances structurelles et fondamentales de chacune des deux expressions, a pour but de détecter des phénomènes de correspondance à l’origine de cette recherche interdisciplinaire. L’interaction du son et de l’image, ou encore de la langue et de l’écriture, qui est à l’œuvre dans tous les aspects d’une composition calligraphique ou musicale, y est analysée. Outre des développements purement artistiques et techniques, une large exploration des éléments « lignes et points » et des notions « duel et dualité » est effectuée, présentée de manière significative et subjective. Elle est complétée sur un plan transversal par une étude épistémologique, philosophique et spirituelle dans le contexte socio-culturel persan, en réunissant tous les aspects d’un travail scientifique. La calligraphie et la musique n’ont pas seulement des lignes et des points en commun ou en parallèle, elles tissent la même construction d’expressions à travers deux médiums distincts, visuel et sonore. L’expérience novatrice d’une application numérique audiovisuelle, menée avec Iannix/l’UPIC, vient notamment clore cette thèse en illustrant la transposition visuelle et sonore de caractères calligraphiques.

    “MusiCalligraphy” is a concept of “counterpoint” in contemporary art, superimposing music and calligraphy through its material, structural and speculative natures. It addresses the organic compatibility of the reciprocal correlation of visual and sound elements which translate into contrasting yet complementary mediums in a constantly evolving artistic milieu. To achieve a profound, tangible result, it is essential to methodically dissect, fragment and defragment the aesthetic, artistic and creative components of music and calligraphy. At the origin of this interdisciplinary research, lies a global approach followed by a detailed observation of the structural and fundamental components of both music and calligraphy, with the aim of detecting corresponding phenomena. The interaction of sound and image, or language and writing, at work in every aspect of a calligraphic or musical composition, is thus analyzed. In addition to purely artistic and technical developments, a thorough exploration of the “lines and dots” elements and the notions of “duel and duality” is carried out, presented in a significant and subjective way. On a transversal level it is completed by an epistemological, philosophical and spiritual study within the Persian socio-cultural context, bringing together all the aspects of a scientific work. Calligraphy and music not only have lines and points in common, or in parallel, they also weave the same construction of expressions through two distinct mediums, visual and sound. An innovative digital audiovisual application, carried out with, brings this thesis to a close, illustrating the visual and sound transposition of calligraphic characters.
