Approche psychanalytique des figures littéraires et sociales chez Albert Camus : l'esthétique de l'épreuve

  • Résumé

    En quoi consiste la représentation de l'épreuve dans ses dimensions esthétiques et comment se manifeste-t-elle dans les oeuvres de Camus ? Tel est l'objet de cette recherche doctorale. En nous appuyant sur la théorie psychanalytique, nous adoptons une lecture flottante en « écoutant » ce qu'un texte murmure à la conscience et à l'inconscient du lecteur afin de mettre en lumière les sonorités inouïes, la secondarité qui s'impose dans la littéralité ainsi que la vérité du fantasme qui habite le texte. Nous cherchons, dans un premier temps, à expliquer le rapport entre l'espace extérieur et l'affectivité du moi. Nous voulons analyser respectivement l'espace méditerranéen et l'espace européen dans le but d'éclairer pourquoi le moi est heureux dans un espace de mer et de lumière et pourquoi le moi souffre d'angoisse et de dépression dans un espace sombre et loin de la mer. La mer et la mère, deux images tellement importantes dans les oeuvres de Camus, sont analysées selon une approche psychanalytique. Nous traitons, dans un second temps, de l'intériorité (l'espace intérieur) des personnages afin d'expliquer pourquoi le moi peut être soumis au malheur/à l'épreuve, sous quelles formes l'épreuve peut se manifester et comment affronter l'épreuve pour en minimiser le risque. Après l'analyse de l'épreuve, nous nous interrogeons sur la notion du bonheur qui peut être retrouvé dans la lutte contre l'épreuve et peut donc assurer à l'épreuve sa dimension métaphysique. Enfin, nous voulons examiner l'esthétique de la morale et de l'écriture camusienne pour voir pourquoi elle peut se résumer à une « mesure » et comment elle est suggérée dans un monde de contradictions et d'épreuves.

    Psychoanalytic approach to study the literary and social figures in the works of Albert Camus : aesthetics of tribulation


  • Résumé

    What is the representation of the tribulation in its aesthetic dimensions and how does it manifest in Camus' works ? This is the aim of this doctoral research. Based on the psychoanalytic theory, we adopt a floating reading by " listening " to what a text whispers to the reader's consciousness and unconscious in order to elucidate the unheard-of sonorities, the secondarity in literality as well as the truth of the fantasy that inhabits the text. We seek, in a first step, to explain the relationship between the external space and the affectivity of the subject. We want to analyze respectively the Mediterranean space and the European space in order to clarify why the subject is happy in a space of sea and light and why it suffers from anxiety and depression in a dark space far from the sea. The sea and the mother, two images so important in Camus' works, are analyzed from a psychoanalytic approach. In a second step, we examine the interiority (inner space) of the characters in order to explain why the subject can be exposed to misfortune/tribulation, what kind of forms the tribulation could take and how to face the tribulation in order to minimize the risk. After the analysis of the tribulations, we want to study the notion of happiness that can be found in the struggle against the tribulation and may thus ensure the tribulation its metaphysical dimension. Finally, we explore the aesthetics of the morality and the writing of Camus to see why it can be summed up as a " measure " and how it is suggested in a world of contradictions and tribulations.
