THIS WORK IS ABOUT THE WORK OF THE AUSTRIAN WRITER ROBERT MUSIL, HIS NOVELS, ESSAYS AND DIARY. WE TRIED TO UNDERSTAND HOW THIS WRITER TAKES PLACE IN THE MODERNITY AND TO DESCRIBE WHAT IS PROPERLY PHILOSO PHICAL IN HIS WORK. THE FIRST PART IS A CRITIC OF THE IDEA OF IMAGE AND OF STREREOTYPE IN THE FIRST NOVELS AND SHORT STORIES OF MUSIL, THROUGH THE PRINCIPLE OF INCONVENANCE. THE SECOND PART IS A CRITIC OF THE MODERN RATIO with THE HELP OF THE PRINCIPLE OF INSUFFICIENT REASON, USED BY MUSIL HIMSELF. THE THIRD PART EXPLAINS THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE IDEA OF TIME AND THE IDEAS OF NARRATION AND OF HISTORY. WE CALLED THE PRINCIPLE, PRINCIPLE OF MISSING PRINCIPLE. THE LAST PART OF THIS WORK TRIES TO SHOW HOW MUSIL TROUGH NOVELS SUCCEEDED IN BUILDING AN ETHIC. THE GENERAL SENSE OF THIS WORK WAS TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND HOW A WRITER CAN ALSO CREATE A PHILOSOPHY.
