Résumé
La méditerranée n'est pas seulement un monde homogène et central, elle est aussi partie prenante de systèmes beaucoup plus vastes au sein desquels elle entretient des solidarités étroites et complexes avec les espaces de l'océan indien, de l'Afrique subsaharienne, de l'Europe centrale et septentrionale, de l'Asie centrale. La thèse n'a pas pour objectif d'innover sur le plan du fond des connaissances. Le projet tient dans la définition de principes généraux à élaborer et à mettre en application pour l'étude de l'ensemble de la période historique, le tout dans un souci constant de mise en valeur de chaque peuple, organisé ou non en Etat, en rejetant tout à posteriori en hiérarchisation culturelle. Il s'agit de réfléchir à l'élaboration d'une méthode permettant une présentation historique scientifiquement juste à l'échelle de la Méditerranée sans qu'il y ait de contradictions dans l'interprétation des différents espaces.

Résumé
The mediterranéan region is not only a homogeneous and central world, but it's also a part of much vaster systems in the core of which it maintains narrow and complicated solidarities with the indian ocean, the sub-saharan africa, central and Northern Europe and central Asia. The aim of the thesis is not an innovation of knowledge. The project has a purpose to elaborate and to apply general principles in order to study the whole of the historical period taking into account every people (with a state system or not) and rejecting any cultural prioritisation. It concerns the reflection on the elaboration of a method that can allow a scientifically exact historical presentation at the mediterranean level without contradictions in the interpretation of different spaces.
