Résumé

Le culte des boson est une institution religieuse ancienne de l'aire culturelle akan (Ghana, cote d'ivoire). Qualifiables de "puissances tutélaires territoriales", les boson se divisent en deux catégories : les boson rattaches a un lieu et les boson non localises de la forêt. Notre recherche se situe au croisement de trois disciplines : l'anthropologie, l'histoire et la géographie. Elle se situe d'abord à l'échelle régionale du Moronobu. Puis l'espace d'analyse est circonscrit au terroir villageois de kangandissou (préfecture Bongouanou). A travers le culte rendu aux boson rattaches a des lieux les anyi prennent possession du terroir sur lequel ils vivent. Lors des cérémonies publiques au cours desquelles "on appelle" les boson non localises de la forêt à vernir au village, le komian exerce ses fonctions religieuses, divinatoires et thérapeutiques au bénéfice de tous. Durant la séance de possession rituelle, le komian incarne les boson avec lesquels il a noue une alliance culturelle durant son initiation. Il fait également la démonstration gestuelle de son pouvoir dans le monde invisible. Tandis que l'autorité politique se transmet en filiation matrilinéaire et s'attache aux personnes du roi et de la reine-mère, le pouvoir du komian requiert l'intervention de ses allies et s'exerce dans un cadre congregationnel. Et alors que le culte des boson localises du territoire constitue l'une des assises de l'autorité royale, les boson non rattaches a un lieu sont le support du pouvoir des komian.

Résumé

The boson cult is an ancient religious institution of the Akan (Ghana, Ivory Coast). The boson are territorial and tutelary spirits and they are divided in two classes: boson which are confined to a particular place and boson which are in the forest. Our research is on the junction of three disciplines: anthropology, history and geography. First we work on a regional scale, the moronou. Then the analysis is limited to the land of the village of kangandissou (prefecture bongouanou). The anyi take possession of the land on which they live through the cult of boson which are bound to a particular place. When one "calls" the boson of the forest to come to the village, during the public ceremonies, the komian fulfills his religious, divinatory and therapeutic functions for the benefit of everybody. During the ritual possession performance, the komian embodies the boson with which he is linked. He also demonstrates his power in the invisible world. While political authority is transmitted through the matrilineal lineage and is represented by the king and the queen, the initiation of the komian requests the intervention of his relatives by marriage and the komian exercises his power in a congregational frame. While the cult of the boson which are bound to a place are one of the basis of the royal authority, the boson of the forest are the basis of the power of the komian.
