Résumé
La mort et la metamorphose representent non seulement deux phases dans l'ecriture de genet, mais elles sont l'expression de forces antagonistes au sein de son inconscience. Si la mort est l'instance statique dans le conflit interieur de genet, la metamorphose est le travail dynamique de l'imaginaire pour depasser la limite fatale. L'experience traumatisante de l'insurmontable difference entre "soi" et "autre" amene genet a ne plus percevoir le monde en tant que "realite", mais a travers une dialectique paradoxale (une pensee pervertie), un cercle vicieux que seule la toute-puissance de l'imaginaire peut briser. Son ultime visee n'est donc pas de tendre vers l'autre en tant qu'autre mais de l'investir a l'aide de l'imaginaire pour atteindre a son propre "etre".

Résumé
Death and metamorphosis represent two stages in genet's writing, while expressing antagonist forces fighting each other inside the writer's unconscious. If death stands for the static moment of genet's inner conflict, metamorphosis is a dynamic imaginary endeavour to transcend the helpless limit of human condition. The traumatic experience of an unsurmontable difference between "the self" and "the other" leads genet to no longer perceived the world as "real" but through a paradoxical dialectic (a perverted thinking); a vicious circle which only the powers of imagination can break. Genet's ultimate aim is not to become equal to "the other" but more precisely to invest the other in an imaginary way to reach his own "being".
