Résumé
L’approche sensitive et raisonnée du paysage permet d’en révéler les onctions, significations et valeurs. De lieux réels en horizons imaginaires, de promenades en lectures d’archives, le paysage est regardé, parcouru, interrogé et dessiné. Trois approches partielles (le paysage communal, industriel, familial) sont menées dans les limites des deux derniers siècles et du centre du bocage normand, en privilégiant l’étude par cas et « l’échelle-micro », afin de préserver au maximum l'authenticité des expériences humaines sur les lieux. Le paysage bocain y apparaît comme l'expression d une société et d'une culture privilégiant l’enracinement. Il contribue aussi à la reproduction sociale, à la préservation des valeurs défendues et à la propre identification de cette société.

Résumé
The sensitive and reasoned approach of the landscape makes it possible to reveal its functions, meanings and worth. From real places to imaginary horizons, from walking to the reading of archives, the landscape is looked upon, glanced at questioned and finally draw. Three approaches (industrial, domestic and local) are to be found in the last two centuries in the norman bocage ; the study each case and micro-scale are given greater importance, so as to save the utmost authenticity of human experiences in the places. The landscape of the bocage appears as the expression of a society and culture giving a greater importance to entrenchment. It also contributes to social reproduction, to the protection of the forbidden values, and to the own identification of this society.
