Ontology alignment is the process of finding correspondences between ontologies. In our thesis, we investigate if the use of background knowledge (meta-thesaurus, ontologies, mappings, etc.) can improve the classical approaches based mainly on lexical and structural similarity measures. For that purpose, we try to build a good approach that allow to select (or construct) dynamically the appropriate Background Knowledge. Then, to define how to exploit it effectively in the alignment process.
