Electroencephalography on more than one Individual simultaneously; theoretical aspects of data signal processing.
This research aims at exploring the signal processing of several sets of multidimensional data acquired simultaneously. We aim at tracing several measures summarizing the degree of cerebral synchronization between the two (or more) brains, but also to study the variations of such measures as a function of the context and environmental variables. In other words, our goal is to observe the spontaneous coupling between the two (or more) brains by a multivariate analysis of the dependency structure of the electroencephalographic data, following the dynamics along time and across experimental conditions. For doing this, I will explore theoretical aspects of joint multivariate methods such as joint blind source separation (Li et al., 2011; Congedo et al., 2011; Congedo et al., 2012; Phlypo, 2013), methods borrowed from the field of non-linear dynamics (Stam, 2005), as well as symmetrical and directed measures of synchrony that can be found in the literature.
